About Pleasanton Connects
Building the relationships, trust, and collaboration that help Pleasanton thrive
Pleasanton Connects is a community-led network that brings residents, social and civic organizations, businesses, schools, and municipal officials together to strengthen communication, build trust, and co-create a solution to a local challenge.
Our first challenge? Social connection.
Our Story
In June 2025, Pleasanton Connects began with a simple question: At a time of disconnection and division, how do we strengthen the social connections that help a community thrive?
Rather than create another program or one-time event, we set out to build something lasting, a community-led network dedicated to strengthening the relationships, trust, and collaboration that make collective action possible.
Over the past year, we have come together as residents and organizations from across the community to listen, learn, and identify opportunities to deepen social connection in Pleasanton. Together, we have developed a shared vision for the future. Please see our Community Action Plan
From June 2026 through May 2027, Pleasanton Connects will work alongside hundreds of volunteers across the city to implement initiatives that:
• Expand opportunities for gathering and connection, both city-wide and within Pleasanton's neighborhoods;
• Establish a Block Connector program to strengthen neighbor-to-neighbor relationships, welcome newcomers, and increase connection and coordination at the block level;
• Create a centralized digital "community commons" where residents can discover events, build relationships, and access local resources;
• Strengthen welcoming and leadership pathways for newcomers, youth, and others who may be less connected to community life; and
• Foster stronger collaboration among organizations, institutions, and civic leaders to address community challenges together.

Our Approach
We believe strong communities are built through relationships
No single organization can solve a community's biggest challenges. Neither can a coalition, at least not without the right people at the table and the trust to act together. Lasting change requires a cross-sectoral table of residents and leaders who have built the relationships, processes, and shared commitment to make collective action real.
That’s the aim of Pleasanton Connects.
Our approach is rooted in three core beliefs:
