Pleasanton Connects Building a More Connected Pleasanton
Pleasanton Connects is a cross-sector, community-led network that brings together residents, organizations, and city leaders to build relationships, strengthen civic skills, and work together to improve community life.
We are building a more connected Pleasanton.
At a time of growing isolation and division, connection matters more than ever.
Pleasanton Connects is working to weave stronger relationships across neighborhoods, cultures, generations, and institutions so that everyone feels more seen, supported, and part of community life.
We are building the foundation for a more connected, resilient, and collaborative Pleasanton.
Phase 1
Community Map & Listening Tour
(May - Nov 2025)
We built a community map to identify all the groups in Pleasanton. We conducted a community listening tour (n=38) and citywide survey (n=~1000) to help us understand residents' connection-related needs, assets and aspirations.
Phase 2
Relationships, Skills & Discovery
(Jan - March 2026)
We built relationships, strengthened communications skills, and examined best practices for building community connection. We then recruited a "whole of society" network.
Phase 3
Community Action Plan
(March - June 2026)
Our action plan focuses on strengthening connection through gatherings, coordination, and long-term community systems.
Phase 4
Strengthen Social Connection Across Pleasanton
(July 2026 - May 2027)
In 2026–27 we will create intentional spaces for residents to build meaningful relationships across neighborhoods, backgrounds, and generations.
