About Pleasanton Connects
Building the relationships, trust, and collaboration that help Pleasanton thrive.
Pleasanton Connects is a community-led network that brings together residents, social and civic organizations, businesses, schools, and municipal officials to build relationships, strengthen collaboration skills, and co-create solutions to local challenges.
Our first challenge? Social connection.
Our Story
In June 2025, Pleasanton Connects began with a fundamental question: in an increasingly digital and rapidly changing world, how do we deepen the genuine human connections that allow a community to thrive?
Pleasanton Connects, a project powered by the Workday Foundation, seeks to build a lasting, community-led network dedicated to strengthening the trust, relationships, and collaboration that make collective resilience possible. Grounded in the belief that social connection is a measurable social good, one that requires intentional planning, investment, and effort, the Workday Foundation partnered with the TogetherUp Institute and the City of Pleasanton to develop a model network to build social connection across the city.
Over the past year, residents, civic leaders, and local organizations have come together to listen, learn, and identify opportunities to deepen social ties across our city. Together, we have developed a shared vision for the future, which you can explore in our Community Action Plan.
From June 2026 through May 2027, Pleasanton Connects will work alongside hundreds of volunteers to co-create initiatives that transform physical proximity into authentic neighborhood belonging:
• Expand City-Wide & Neighborhood Gatherings: Host highly visible gathering events designed to bring residents together and foster deep roots in the community.
• Launch the Block Connector Program: Strengthen neighbor-to-neighbor relationships, welcome newcomers, and improve communication at the block level.
• Create a Digital "Community Commons": Build a centralized online hub where residents can discover events, build relationships, and access local resources.
• Strengthen Leadership Pathways: Open welcoming avenues for youth, newcomers, and underrepresented groups to participate actively in civic life.
• Foster Civic & Organizational Collaboration: Unify local institutions, non-profits, and leaders to address community challenges together.

Our Approach
We believe strong communities are built through relationships.
No single organization can solve a community's biggest challenges. Lasting change requires a cross-sectoral table of residents and leaders who have built the relationships, processes, and shared commitment to make collective action real.
That’s the aim of Pleasanton Connects.
Our approach is rooted in three core beliefs
